PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: July 2026
GigSpot ("we", "us", or "our") operates the GigSpot mobile application, a workspace for booking, managing and running live entertainment. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, and account type (artist, band, DJ, venue, manager, agency, crew, event producer, or wedding planner)
- Profile information: city, bio, photos, videos, genres, performance formats, and social media usernames
- Booking and schedule data: shows, invitations, rehearsals, availability, and blocked dates
- Crew and team data: names, roles, and payment details for crew members you invite to your team
- Financial data: show fees, tips, expenses and payment status you record for your own bookings
- Usage data: app interactions, show bookings, and messages sent through the platform
- Device information: push notification token for delivering notifications
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the GigSpot service
- To connect venues with artists for show bookings
- To help you manage your crew, schedule and finances in one place
- To generate financial reports and AI-powered monthly summaries from your own activity
- To send push notifications about invitations, confirmations and messages
- To improve the app and develop new features
Private Data
Private notes, bookmarks and blacklists are tied to your account and visible only to you. Venue internal notes about artists and crew remain private to that venue.
Financial Information
Fees, tips, expenses and payment status you enter are visible only to the people involved in that show or team — for example, a band's admins and managers, or a venue and the artist they booked. GigSpot never processes payments and never charges commission: venues pay artists directly.
AI-Generated Summaries
GigSpot can generate written summaries of your own show and financial activity, such as monthly recaps, using an AI processing service. These summaries are generated from your own data, are visible only to you, and are never used to train models or shared with other users.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers. Profile information (name, city, genres, formats) is visible to other GigSpot users as part of the platform's core functionality.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication). Firebase complies with GDPR and other applicable data protection regulations.
Chat Security
Messages, audio, and media you send through the in-app chat are encrypted before being stored, using a unique encryption key per conversation. This key is only accessible to the two parties in that conversation. GigSpot can access this content only when legally required (such as a court order) or to investigate a safety report — not as part of routine operations.
Your Rights
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app settings, or by contacting us at hello@gigspotapp.com.
Push Notifications
We use Expo Push Notifications to deliver in-app notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Children
GigSpot is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
